Catching Up

Okay, I know I haven't been on in a really long time to update, but I'll try to do that now, the condensed version of course. Dad had hip surgery on the 20th of December and got staph infection, my step-grandpa Phil passed away 6 days later, Dad finally got out of the hospital but had to go in and get IV treatments twice a day in addition to his Physical Therapy, at the beginning of January Mom started having some strange symptoms so she went to the doctor and long-story short ended up having major surgery in Omaha where they removed several organs and unfortunately found cancer. Whew! It's been crazy. Dad is doing much better now. He finished his IV treatments yesterday and is back to work part-time. He will eventually need to get the other hip replaced, but I think he'll wait on that awhile! Mom will see her oncologist on Monday and they will talk about when to start chemo. She has a long road ahead of her, but she remains positive in the fact that God did not bring her this far to let her down. We are truly believing God for a miraculous time of healing for her. Jade and Tanner are busy. Jade got a part in the Children's Theatre Performance and will be performing this Saturday. She is a natural! She made the front page of the paper for her audition! Tanner has qualified for the county spelling bee and will be participating in that on the 13th. We are SO proud of him. He is such an awesome speller and it is great to be able to let people see that he is so smart! Drew passed his driving test today, only took out a few trees. Just kidding. He has moved back in with his mom as it really is too hard to go to school 20 miles away from where you are living. He was missing his friends a lot, and Jim was getting tired in his old age of driving back and forth all the time! We truly enjoyed having Drew with us, and he'll be back off and on, so we're not too broken up! I got to take him to his driving test today and we had fun.
